The 2013 Kaohsiung Neimen Songjiang Formation event will be held from March 30 to April 7 at Shunxian Temple in Neimen, Kaohsiung. This year’s event will again feature the National University and College Creative Parade Competition, where last year’s champion—Taiwan Academy of Traditional Arts—will face challenges from schools such as National Tainan University and Chung Shan Medical University. The program also includes a Parade Carnival, a gourmet feast prepared by master chefs, and collaborates with travel agencies to offer four one-day tour packages focusing on art, creativity, blessings, and ecology. For just NT$599 per person, participants can enjoy the Songjiang Formation activities and a lunch prepared by Neimen’s master chefs.

The National University and College Creative Parade Competition held during the annual Kaohsiung Neimen Songjiang Formation event will hold preliminary rounds on March 30 and 31, with the finals taking place on April 6. In addition to last year’s champion—the Taiwan Academy of Traditional Arts—other participants include Lung Hwa University of Science and Technology, which has made the top three for six consecutive years; the Asia Pacific Institute of Creative Technology, making its debut; as well as Chung Shan Medical University and Cheng Shiu University, who have been regular participants in recent years, all set to showcase their exceptional martial skills. During the Parade Carnival from April 1 to 7, performances will include Songjiang Formations by schools such as Jingyi Elementary School, Neimen Elementary School, and Qishan Agricultural and Industrial Vocational High School, along with demonstrations of Chen-style Tai Chi, Indonesian martial arts, mainland Chinese Shaolin martial arts, Japanese Osaka Awa Odori dance, and Xiamen Xiang’an Songjiang Formation. On weekend evenings during the event, the Holy Mother Lake at Shunxian Temple will feature spectacular water dance performances, with dazzling fireworks shows on the opening and closing nights.
In addition, the event will present the feast menu created for this year’s Songjiang Formation Master Chef Gourmet event, featuring 10 dishes named after formations and made with local agricultural specialties from Neimen, including braised pork, red-braised fish, rice cake, and universal sweet potato chicken soup. Each table costs NT$3,500, and reservations are now open. Additionally, master chef bento boxes will be available for sale at event stalls from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on March 30 and 31, as well as from April 4 to 6. Event website: www.who-ha.com.tw.
