With a history of over a hundred years, Hengchun Ancient Town is located in the center of Hengchun Township and features four city gates: the East Gate, North Gate, West Gate, and South Gate. These four gates, full of old-world charm, are also the best-preserved to this day. There are many popular shops nearby that travelers can explore.

Xiao Du Baozi, a must-try for many travelers in Hengchun, has developed a variety of creative fillings such as lion’s head meatball, salted pork, and curry—all turned into delicious bun stuffings. Their great taste has people willingly lining up to buy them.

Known as the “Beauty Spring,” Sichongxi Hot Springs have been ranked among Taiwan’s four famous hot springs since the Japanese colonial era, alongside Beitou, Yangmingshan, and Guanziling. The old hot spring street is lined with shops featuring former Baroque-style facades, lattice shutters designed to block the strong downslope winds, and gardens brimming with old-world charm—all worth savoring in detail.

Located in downtown Hengchun, the deer-themed ecological park “Deer Realm” is home to an adorable herd of sika deer. Its open farm space allows visitors to get up close to the “Bambis,” feed them, and take photos together, making animal-loving visitors’ hearts melt and earning it the nickname “Taiwan’s version of Nara.”
