Where to go during the four-day Spring Break holiday? From April 4 to April 7, the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau is launching the NT$499 “Explore Kaohsiung City-Tour,” featuring three major routes including the “Liouguei One-Day Tour,” “Maolin Ecological Park & Saicake Paradise One-Day Tour” and the “Jiaxian, Shanlin & Neimen One-Day Tour.” The Tourism Bureau stated that in addition to the lively 2013 Kaohsiung Neimen Songjiangzhen event from March 30 to April 7, visitors are also welcome to spend their Spring Break in Kaohsiung and enjoy the fun of exploring the mountain city.

The “Liouguei One-Day Tour” includes visits to Liouguei Xinwei Forest Recreation Area, Eighteen Arhats Mountain, Meinong Yiben Dao Academy, Chung Li-ho Memorial Hall, and Meinong Folk Village, as well as a hands-on plum-making DIY experience for visitors to enjoy making plums themselves. The “Maolin Ecological Park & Saicake Paradise One-Day Tour” covers Xinmao Bridge, Maolin Ecological Park, Saicake Paradise, and Qimei Sugar Refinery, and also takes visitors to the Wubake Creative Workshop to make necklaces. Meanwhile, the “Jiaxian, Shanlin & Neimen One-Day Tour” features the Little Forest Village Memorial Park (winner of the Livable City Award), the Little Forest Second Village Siraya Cultural Museum, Yuemei Tzu Chi Park, Neimen Shunxian Temple, and Qishan Old Street, where participants can also engage in hands-on DIY activities to create their own creative gourds symbolizing good fortune.

The Tourism Bureau noted that the “Liouguei One-Day Tour” on April 5 and 7, the “Maolin Ecological Park & Saicake Paradise One-Day Tour” from April 4 to 6, and the “Jiaxian, Shanlin & Neimen One-Day Tour” are now open for registration, with a minimum of 30 participants required for each trip to proceed. Additionally, the Tourism Bureau also offers the “River & Harbor Happiness One-Day Tour” and the “All-Inclusive Two-Day Tour,” with more details available at the Kaohsiung Tourism website: khh.travel/tw.
