Historical records across dynasties have noted that "spring tea is the most prized." With moderate temperatures and ample rainfall in spring, spring tea leaves are plump and emerald green, exuding especially fresh and intense aromas. Since ancient times, literati and refined scholars have savored tea and its fragrance as a form of spiritual cultivation. Taipei Confucius Temple will hold its first-ever "Spring Tea Tasting Fun" on April 13 & 27 and May 11 & 25 this year. Tea art instructor Dai Ruimin will share the essence of tea ceremony, echoing the Confucian culture of the temple and allowing visitors to learn tea ceremony and enjoy fine tea at Taipei Confucius Temple.

This tea tasting event invites Dai Ruimin, who has taught tea art and culture courses at Taipei’s Datong Community College and Beitou Community College for over 10 years, to teach tea ceremony in small groups. Dai Ruimin said that brewing tea involves following specific steps before the tea can be enjoyed. Though this time-consuming process may seem lengthy, the resulting "cup of tea"—the moment you take a sip—not only quenches your thirst and refreshes you but also embodies the crystallization of nature’s essence and human wisdom throughout history. You can feel the realm where "tea is simply tea, but it can also be more than just tea."
April is the season with the highest yield of Taiwan’s spring tea. The activities on April 13 and 27 will feature tastings of Taiwan’s most abundantly produced and fragrant teas—"Four Seasons Spring" and "Jin Xuan." Meanwhile, May marks an important production period for Taiwan’s high-mountain oolong teas. It's also the ideal time to taste these teas after proper refinement and storage. On May 11 and 25, you can sample the traditionally flavored "Dongding Oolong Tea" or the widely popular black tea, as well as the uniquely Taiwanese "High Mountain Small Leaf Black Tea." The experience sessions are held at 13:30 and 15:00 each event day, totaling eight sessions. Each session lasts about one hour, with a limit of 24 participants per session.
