During the Mother’s Day weekend holiday in 2013, Taiwan High-Speed Rail will operate 30 additional train services between May 10 and May 13, including 17 southbound and 13 northbound trains, offering a total of 576 train services over the four days. Starting now, passengers can purchase round-trip tickets for the transport period in one go through THSR partner convenience stores, the online booking system, the T Express mobile ticketing system, the voice reservation system, or at ticket counters and automatic ticket machines at all stations during business hours.

In addition, the free-seating service (in carriages 10, 11, and 12) will still be available during the Mother’s Day transport period; passengers holding periodical tickets, return tickets, or EasyCard co-branded cards can directly tap in to ride any train in the free-seating area. THSR kindly advises passengers to reserve seats in advance and to take advantage of the convenient ticket purchasing channels at THSR convenience stores (FamilyMart, 7-Eleven, Hi-Life, and OK Mart), as well as the “T Express” mobile quick-ticketing service, to collect their tickets early. This allows them to enter the station and board directly upon arrival, saving time queuing for tickets and avoiding crowds at the stations.
During the transport period, 364 train services will be eligible for the “Early Bird Discount,” accounting for 63% of the total number of services over the four days. Passengers can enjoy Early Bird discounts of 35%, 20%, or 10% if they book their tickets 8 to 28 days before departure; quantities are limited, so the earlier you book, the better your chances.
The Business Class limited upgrade, university student discount program, graduation trip program, and group ticket discounts for 30 or more passengers on specified services will be temporarily suspended.
