Mother's Day Mom-Tong Le Hui: Admire Tung Blossoms at West Lake Resort

 

West Lake Resort boasts a vast area, about two-thirds of which is planted with tung trees. Every late spring to early summer, the snow-white tung blossoms quietly bloom on the branches. Here, you can enjoy the poetic charm of late spring while strolling through the fragrant tung blossom woods. You can also take a relaxing lakeside walk and breathe in the fresh air. If you're lucky, you might even spot fireflies dancing among the flowers. Moreover, you can have a picnic under the trees... The various postures of the tung blossoms can all be admired here in one go. From mid-April, the tung blossoms gradually come into full bloom. The "May Snow Tung Blossom Festival" is held from April 13 to May 12, featuring five major tung blossom viewing areas in the resort:

1. Tung Blossom Forest Viewing Area – Twelve Zodiac Sculpture Garden, Sanyang Kaitai Trail

2. Lakeside Scenery Viewing Area – Lakeview Pavilion, Lakeside Café

3. Green Valley Viewing Area – Green Valley Hiking Trail

4. Blessing Wishing Viewing Area – Lingshan Cave Blessing Tunnel

5. Hidden Gem Viewing Area – Secret Tung Blossom Spot Behind Minghu Meeting Room

These tung blossom spots also offer the delightful surprise of firefly sightings, along with stunning views of West Lake’s scenery. You can also enjoy a forest bath in nature, relaxing your body and mind. Whether it's visual satisfaction or physical rejuvenation, it's perfect for family gatherings with friends and loved ones.

 

The resort also hosts many tung blossom-related events, such as the Andersen Tung Le Hui storytelling session on May 5, the Mommy Tung Le Hui – I Love Mommy Sketch Competition on May 12, and the Lianlian West Lake May Snow Photography Contest.
