To promote Penghu as the “World’s Most Beautiful Bay,” the Penghu National Scenic Area Administration has launched a series of events under the “2013 Penghu Beach Carnival.” The festivities begin today (27th) and will continue for over three months. Throughout the event period, different themed activities will be arranged each weekend to make this year’s “Penghu Bay” even more exciting, passionate, vibrant, and romantic.

Zhang Longcheng from the Penghu Administration stated that the Husi Kids' Carnival and the Dama Flatboat Rowing Race will take place this coming Saturday and Sunday. The highlight of the series — the opening beach concert — is scheduled for August17th at 5:00 PM at Aimen Beach. The event will feature Chen F (known as the "Music Poet") and New Formosa Band to liven up the Penghu shoreline and bring the carnival to a climax. With Chen F’s heartfelt ballads softly resonating across the sands, accompanied by sea breezes, tidal sounds, and a dazzling fireworks display, the moment will be etched as one of Penghu’s most timeless and romantic memories.
In addition, a nearly three-month-long summer schedule offers weekly events, with around 20 exciting programs designed to provide visitors with a full range of unique beach experiences. Activities include thrilling survival experience camps and beach volleyball, followed in the evening by beach music parties featuring well-known DJs spinning the latest dance tracks, allowing guests to dance freely under the moonlight. There will also be open-air movie screenings, letting the public enjoy films with the sea breeze gently blowing.
