Evergreen Airlines joined the world's largest Star Alliance on June 18 as its 28th member, officially launching the alliance's activities in Taiwan. Following the airline’s “I See You” advertisement, a series of follow-up events will be planned. These initiatives aim to actively promote the visibility of Star Alliance in Taiwan alongside other alliance carriers. This will enable Taiwanese travelers to easily fly to destinations worldwide through the extensive Star Alliance network. They can also accumulate and redeem miles on any Star Alliance flights via the brand-new premium card “Infinity MileageLands,” and enjoy flexible round-trip travel across multiple countries using Star Alliance’s discounted ticket packages or passes.

Firstly, Evergreen Airlines will add two new destinations for Star Alliance—Kaohsiung in Taiwan and Surabaya in Indonesia—expanding the alliance’s service network into the rapidly growing cross-strait market. The number of travelers between both sides of the strait increased from 3.1 million in 2009 to 8.95 million in 2012. To provide seamless service, Evergreen Airlines now offers connecting flight booking services for passengers traveling onward on Star Alliance flights. Travelers no longer need to visit the transfer counter to collect their onward boarding pass, and if permitted by local customs regulations, their luggage can be checked through directly to the final destination.
In addition, in line with joining the Star Alliance, Evergreen Airlines has launched the new premium card “Infinity MileageLands.” Members can accumulate and redeem miles on any Star Alliance flights. Diamond and Gold cardholders of “Infinity MileageLands” traveling on any alliance flights will enjoy the exclusive benefits of Star Alliance Gold membership, including access to over 1,000 lounges worldwide, additional free baggage allowances, and priority baggage delivery. Other Star Alliance members flying on Evergreen Airlines flights can also enjoy the same privileges.
In terms of travel and tourism, the Star Alliance network offers “Round the World Fares,” “Pacific Explorer Passes,” and various “Travel Passes,” allowing travelers to move freely within a single country or even an entire continent. Each type of pass can be tailored to individual needs, providing cost-effective options that best suit travelers' itineraries. Passengers simply need to book a flight with an international Star Alliance member airline and designate a country or continent to begin their customized travel pass journey.
