Reconstructed from an 11th-century monastery, Castel Monastero is situated in the renowned Chianti wine region, nestled among lush chestnut forests and rows of cypress trees. Whether from the 61 guest rooms or the 12 suites, guests can enjoy charming views of the countryside. True to Italy’s reputation as a culinary capital, Castel Monastero houses two restaurants, Contrada and La Cantina, where British chef Gordon Ramsay designed the menus. Both the dishes and interior decor reflect Italy’s rich traditions. In particular, La Cantina features soaring arched ceilings and stone walls, giving the entire restaurant the feel of a mysterious ancient tunnel.
Additionally, the hotel’s spa center has enlisted Dr. Ali, the personal therapist of Britain’s Prince William, to offer detox, massage, spa treatments, and weight loss programs. Guests can relax their body and mind while letting this tranquil hillside heal their restless souls.
