The Earth is getting greener！ NASA aerial photos show environmental efforts really work

In recent years, environmental awareness has been rising around the world. From energy conservation and carbon reduction, recycling, and plastic reduction to greening and planting, everyone is working hard to make the Earth a better place. According to data released by NASA, the Earth today is greener than it was 20 years ago！

Data released by NASA's Earth Observatory shows that compared to the year 2000, the global green area has increased by nearly 5%, about 2 million square miles, roughly equivalent to one Amazon rainforest. However, although vegetation has increased, it is not enough to offset the damage caused by deforestation.

The study found that China and India account for only 9% of the world’s green area, but their greening contribution amounts to as much as one-third of the global total. It is speculated that 30% of China’s greening comes from intensive agriculture, while nearly 80% of India’s greening comes from intensive agriculture, which has significantly increased the amount of green coverage.

But with the efforts of various countries, the increase in green area is clearly visible. Tree planting and afforestation activities initiated around the world have to some extent brought a better future for the Earth. Although it cannot compete with the daily disappearance of rainforests in countries like Indonesia and Brazil, as long as everyone is willing to face the challenge together, work hard, and care for the land we live on, one day we will plant more than we cut, and give the Earth the health it deserves.
