As September arrives, the much-awaited Yellow Rubber Duck will meet the public on the 19th of this month during the Mid-Autumn Festival. To welcome the Yellow Rubber Duck, Dream Mall in Kaohsiung, Howard Plaza Hotel, Farglory Hotel Kaohsiung, and E-DA World have all introduced exclusive events and special offers. The Hongmao Port Cultural Park has also added a new duck-viewing cruise route, and the Kaohsiung MRT has launched a special sightseeing package to ensure duck fans enjoy an unforgettable experience.

The Yellow Rubber Duck has sparked a viewing craze. Dream Mall will host a sand sculpture exhibition along Era Boulevard from September 19 to October 20, featuring Taiwan’s only original 6-meter sand sculpture of the Yellow Rubber Duck. Howard Plaza Hotel is offering a special promotion for harbor-view deluxe rooms starting at NT$5,300 + 10% during the exhibition period, which includes a 30 cm tall rubber duck plush toy, a box of duck-shaped soap, and free access to the swimming pool and gym. Farglory Hotel Kaohsiung has launched the “Cute Yellow Duck Kaohsiung Harbor Leisure Stay Package,” starting at NT$4,599 + 10% per night, which includes complimentary buffet breakfast, a NT$100 bike voucher for Qijin, and bath ducks based on the number of guests, plus a harbor yacht tour around Kaohsiung Port to see the Yellow Duck.
E-DA World is offering discounts to residents of Tainan, Kaohsiung, and Pingtung. Simply show a photo taken with the Yellow Rubber Duck at Glory Pier and your ID to enjoy discounted admission tickets for just NT$699 at E-DA Theme Park, along with a complimentary mascot keychain of the Lucky Delivery Bird. E-DA Crown Plaza Hotel has introduced the “Ultimate Value Celebration” stay package that includes one night’s accommodation and one meal. Guests who present a photo taken at Glory Pier and like the hotel’s Facebook fan page can enjoy an additional 10% discount on the package price. E-DA L’Avenue Hotel has placed a Yellow Rubber Duck in the outdoor garden restaurant pool and is also offering a special “Happy Kids Yellow Duck Meal” during the exhibition period for NT$260 + 10% per serving, along with a “Yellow Duck Set.”
Additionally, the Hongmao Port Cultural Park has specially launched a new harbor cruise route connecting “Pier-2—Asia New Bay Area.” In addition to getting up close with the Yellow Rubber Duck, the cruise features professional guides who will lead visitors through nearby docks and introduce major public facilities such as the World Trade Exhibition Center and the Kaohsiung Music Center.
The Kaohsiung MRT has also partnered with the Cultural Affairs Bureau, Tourism Bureau, and bus authorities to launch the “KMRT Happy Duck Sightseeing Package,” which includes a one-day MRT pass, a boat ticket to Hongmao Port, a pocket-sized travel guide, and an adorable mini Yellow Rubber Duck. There’s also an early bird option: pre-order from September 7–13 for NT$299 per set, or NT$349 per set after September 14 (limited to 1,000 sets). These can be purchased at MRT service counters and the KMRT Goods Store at Formosa Boulevard Station. From September 20 until the end of the exhibition, MRT service counters at various stations will also sell a Yellow Duck-themed stored-value card for NT$300, which includes NT$30 in stored value and a cute mini Yellow Rubber Duck. Cardholders can directly register at the duck boat Erhai Line ticket office to board the duck boat, departing from Glory Pier and sailing to the Zhongzheng Bridge area to view up close the largest Yellow Rubber Duck in Asia and the second largest in the world.
