New cycling experience in Wulai Up！The Wulai Waterfall Visitor Center, located next to Wulai Waterfall in New Taipei City, has reopened after a complete renovation. In addition to retaining its travel consultation services, it now offers visitors a brand-new “Five Senses Experience”—scenic dining, thoughtful service, activity recommendations, cultural showcases, and healthy concepts. It also unveils for the first time the most phytoncide- and negative-ion-rich cycling greenway in the Greater Taipei area: the “Wulai Waterfall–Fushan” route. Visitors can rent a bicycle at the Wulai Waterfall Visitor Center and head straight to this lesser-known, private cycling greenway in Wulai.

Visitors to the center can now enjoy creative cuisine blending indigenous and Western flavors—such as truffle bamboo rice, pastoral Makhao German-style pork knuckle, and Makhao iced tea—while taking in the view of Wulai Waterfall, offering both visual and taste sensory experiences. They can also enjoy thoughtful services like bicycle air pumps and basic repair tools, try hands-on DIY activities such as painting their own Atayal-style wooden knife or wild boar tooth keychain, explore cultural exhibits featuring artworks made from wood, stone, and copper by artists, and engage in health-focused experiences promoting cycling, hiking, and jogging. This all-new visitor center, offering a complete Five Senses Experience, provides visitors with a refreshing and unique encounter.
The “Wulai Waterfall–Fushan” cycling greenway route passes through Xinxian Black Bridge, Neidong Forest Recreation Area, a 7.5K section comparable to the North Cross-Island Highway, Wuchongxi Waterfall, a green tunnel, and Daluolan River, ending at Fushan Tribe. Along the way, it features Taiwan’s highest waterfall, Wulai Waterfall, the No. 1-ranked Neidong Three-Tiered Waterfall in the Forestry Bureau’s waterfall poll, and the widely talked-about Wuchongxi Waterfall online. With splashing water from waterfalls, streams, and fountains, plus fresh oxygen produced by plant photosynthesis, cyclists can enjoy a high-negative-ion journey. The entire 19-kilometer route is lined with lush greenery, allowing riders to breathe in the phytoncides released by nature along the way.
Located in the mountainous hinterland of the Greater Taipei area, Wulai’s Visitor Center offers bicycle rentals for just NT$250 per day, making it easy to leisurely explore Wulai’s forests and mountains. Additionally, Fushan is the southernmost Atayal tribe in Wulai. Its remote location has helped preserve its stunning natural scenery. Visitors can book the weekly Saturday “Fushan Cycling Tour” package for NT$1,199 per person. In addition to bicycle rental, the package includes a professional guide, tribal meals, a tribal tour, and travel insurance, offering an in-depth experience of the Greater Taipei area’s only Atayal indigenous culture, forest ecology, and canyon beauty.
