The Big Rainbow Music Festival is entering its third edition this year and will take place over two days, October 12–13, at Pier-2 Art Center and Pier 11. In addition to nearly fifty diverse artists—including Yoga Lin, Sandee Chan, Matzka, Won Fu, Patty Hou, Wei Yu Hsuan, Lala Hsu, Bai An, Universe, Eggplant...—who will perform across four stages featuring pop, indie, hip-hop, and rock music, the festival also offers highly acclaimed music talks, a pier market, harbor-flavored street food, and mobile food trucks. This year also sees the addition of the “Rock Noise Factory” exhibition area, showcasing various musical instruments and hosting live jam sessions. Meanwhile, the “Barber for Good” initiative encourages attendees to do good deeds, with well-known hairstylists offering free haircuts onsite, with all proceeds going to charity. The Moonlight Stage has been transformed into a dedicated space for young bands, featuring performances from groups hailing from all over.

Each year, the Big Rainbow Music Festival brings new surprises, and this year is no exception with the special “Rainbow Party,” keeping the fun going all night from 11:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Additionally, it’s worth mentioning that the organizer, the Kaohsiung City Cultural Affairs Bureau, in response to the construction of the Southern Taiwan “Marine Culture and Pop Music Center,” has integrated a talent development program within the 2013 Big Rainbow Music Festival. This initiative aims to cultivate future music professionals by providing hands-on experience in the core operations of concert production, allowing participants to gain practical insight into the pre-event planning and on-site execution of large-scale concerts.
