With the coolness of autumn in the air, netizens must be starting to plan their winter hot spring trips too. The annual Taipei Hot Spring Festival will be held from October 10 to 14 at venues including the Xindianpu MRT Station Plaza. This year, there will not only be a Nanyin PK competition and Minghua Garden opera performances, but also authentic Japanese Matsuyama Lion Dance and children’s mikoshi parades will appear in Beitou. During the event period, there will also be a 3D anamorphic painting exhibition created by students from Tamkang High School, and a public welfare campaign where donating blood earns you a soaking coupon at a Beitou hot spring hotel, allowing netizens to give love and enjoy a warm soak. In addition, from now until December 30, those who bring the Taipei Hot Spring Festival handbook can enjoy discounts on soaking, accommodations, and food in Xinbeitou. The handbook can be collected at the Taipei City Tourism Service Center, the Taipei City Hall, or participating stores in the Xinbeitou commercial area, while supplies last.

This year's event will run for five days. The hot spring joint exhibition booths and 3D anamorphic painting displays will be open daily. Whether it’s the hottest seasonal souvenirs, essential hotel experiences in the Beitou area, or super discounted soaking, accommodation, and food vouchers, you can get it all at the booths. And the long-popular Beitou Open-Air Cinema will be held on October 12. For those who want to explore Beitou more deeply but aren’t familiar with the area, consider taking the free hot spring shuttle on October 12 and 13 to tour Beitou and get to know the Beitou hot spring town you didn’t know about.
In addition, this year’s event incorporates public welfare activities. Not only will there be a charity cultural and creative market every day, but the Beitou Blood Donation Charity Day will be held from 09:00 to 18:00 on October 11 to 13. During the event, just donate one bag of blood at the designated location in front of Beitou Park and you’ll receive a soaking coupon at a Beitou hot spring hotel.
