The Huashan 1914 Creative Park, a hub of artistic vibes during the day, undergoes a dramatic transformation after dark. Not only do ghostly figures occasionally emerge from the walls of the buildings, but mischievous pumpkins from Hong Kong also pop up one by one from beneath the grass, vividly displaying their sharp, playful eyes and gaping, toothy grins. The dim lighting in the dark adds an eerie and fun atmosphere, making the night even more magical. In addition to being led by Hong Kong’s Halloween ambassador, Pumpkin Man, who invites everyone to join in the fun, the 2012 viral internet video “Play 虾咪game,” featuring a Saw-like protagonist, is challenging Hong Kong’s Halloween Carnival Month and battling the numerous pumpkin monsters in the settlements. He leads a chaotic dance party to disrupt the pumpkin festival, recreating the classic “Play 虾咪game”!

Hong Kong Tourism Board Taiwan Director Xu Weini stated: “October is the month of Hong Kong’s Halloween Carnival Month. Major malls, restaurants, bars, and theme parks are all offering unique Halloween-themed events, filling the city with a strong festive vibe. This year, to allow Taiwanese to experience the Halloween spirit locally, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has specially created the Taipei Halloween Pumpkin Festival at Huashan from now until the 9th. The public can scan QR codes on the pumpkins to receive over 2,500 mystery gifts, with the grand prize including a free Hong Kong flight and hotel package. Everyone can head to Hong Kong at any time to enjoy the unique Halloween Carnival Month.”
To promote the Halloween Carnival Month kicking off on October 1st, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has, for the first time, created the “Taipei Halloween Pumpkin Festival” at the Huashan Park. The event features 60 large and small pumpkins across the settlement, running from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. As dusk falls, the pumpkins in the pumpkin field seem to come alive, glowing with faint lights and displaying eerie, toothy expressions in the darkness. Paired with the ghostly figures occasionally appearing on the building walls, the park transforms into a vibrant Halloween-themed magical festival, leaving visitors of all ages amazed and impressed.

At the same time, to echo the classic Halloween slogan “Trick or Treat,” the Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched a double promotion during the event period. In addition to exchanging Halloween candy by checking in and sharing photos on-site, the public can also scan QR codes on the pumpkins to join the Pumpkin Man hunt and stand a chance to win over 2,500 mystery gifts. Among them are generous prizes, including five three-day, two-night Hong Kong flight and hotel packages. The public is invited to join the fun, embrace the excitement, and take home great rewards.
To compete with Hong Kong’s most popular Halloween ambassador, Pumpkin Man, the Saw-like protagonist from the 2012 viral video “Play 虾咪game,” which garnered over 5 million views, has vowed to defeat the numerous pumpkin monsters in the settlements. This year, he’s not going solo—he quips, “I want to play again.” In addition to recreating iconic scenes from the video on-site, he leads a chaotic dance party to disrupt the Taipei Halloween Pumpkin Festival. The festive pumpkin event, filled with a strong Halloween atmosphere and multiple mystery gifts, has him exclaiming how fun it is. He looks forward to winning a Hong Kong flight and hotel package via QR code and urges netizens, “Stop staying at home playing Play 虾咪game with mom and your girlfriend. Come to Huashan for this super rewarding game and experience the ultimate Hong Kong Halloween Carnival Month in Hong Kong!”
