Now in its 12th year, the highly popular autumn event along the northeast coast — the “Caoling Historic Trail Silvergrass Bloom Season” — will make its classic return from November 16 to December 1 along the iconic Caoling Historic Trail. With this year’s theme, “Dancing Silvergrass in the Wind,” beyond the classic 8.5-kilometer route of the Caoling Historic Trail, special weekend activities have also been planned: “Caoling’s Old-Time Charm, Dress Up Creatively,” “Weekly Lucky Draws Along the Historic Trail,” “Tea Served by Shopkeepers,” “Mini Games Along the Trail,” “DIY Rubbing and Dough Figurine Workshops,” “Peaceful Porridge Blessings at Dali Tian Gong Temple,” and “i-like Lingjiushan: Check-In for Great Gifts.” These offerings, combined with special deals from travel agencies and nearby merchants, allow visitors to experience the refreshing beauty of “Silvergrass Dancing in the Wind” starting from the Caoling Historic Trail.

This year’s biggest difference from previous years is the open call inviting netizens to participate in “Caoling’s Old-Time Charm, Dress Up Creatively.” During the event period, on weekends, participants who dress up with an “ancient theme” can take a group photo at the “Historic Scene Photo Zone” on the Caoling Historic Trail, post it on the “Friends of the Northeast Coast” Facebook fan page, and enter to win daily limited-edition prizes through on-site lucky draws.

Additionally, the Northeast Coast & Yilan National Scenic Area Administration has arranged shuttle buses for event weekends (November 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and December 1) between “Fulong Visitor Center - Yuanwangkeng Water Park” and “Dali Visitor Center - Fulong Visitor Center.” Moreover, local businesses have launched a series of “Dancing Silvergrass in the Wind” promotions: hotels in Toucheng and Jiaoxi are offering stays plus hot spring packages at up to 50% off on weekdays and 10% off on weekends; multiple tourist spots across the northeast coast — including Longdong, Fulong, Aodi, Zhuangwei, Toucheng, and Luodong — are providing discounts; and travel agencies such as Lion Travel, Five Star Tours, and Shangshun are also rolling out enhanced tour packages themed around the Silvergrass Bloom Season.
