If you're planning a romantic and nature-filled little trip after work or during the weekend in Taipei, besides enjoying the refreshing autumn breeze on a U-Bike ride, you can also immerse yourself in the two-month-long flower sea at Guting Riverside Park. The floral carpet, made up of yellow chrysanthemums, salvia splendens, and angelonia, lets you wander through a symphony of red, white, purple, and pink hues — guaranteed to make your partner’s heart bloom.

Not to be outshined by the annually popular Xinshe Flower Sea Festival in autumn, the Guting Riverside Park, revitalized by the Taipei City Government Department of Rapid Transit Systems’ Bureau of Waterworks, features a floral carpet designed with the imagery of water ripples and Hakka terraced fields. The graceful, winding lines showcase the riverside ambiance of the park, while the vibrant colors reflect the brilliance and traditional beauty of Hakka fabric patterns.
During the two-month flowering period, visitors can take the MRT to Taipower Building Station, exit at Exit 5, turn left onto Shida Road, and walk to Shuiyuan Road to reach the park. For those wanting to enjoy a bike ride through the floral sea, bicycles can be rented at the Gongyuan Riverside Plaza in the Taipei Water Park, and cycling toward the Hakka Cultural Park will also lead you there. Additionally, while enjoying the beautiful scenery, please do not step on the floral carpets, so that more people can share in the view.
