In 2012, the high-speed rail company assisted in the Japanese star Masatoshi Nagase and others’ “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above” Japanese documentary promotional work, and in the following two months, they conducted multiple days of filming in Taiwan, including scenes inside and outside the high-speed rail stations and on the trains. The core theme of the movie is the beauty of the high-speed rail. The film was officially selected for the 2013 Cannes Film Festival, and images of Taiwan’s high-speed rail trains also made their way onto the international stage.
The high-speed rail company stated that starting now, it has specially set up a “Billions” high-speed rail filming documentary display cabinet at Taipei Station and Zuoying Station, showcasing Masatoshi Nagase and others’ train station ticket stubs and receipts, as well as displaying the “Billions” movie poster and promotional video. It also presents the concept of “the beauty within the journey.”
At the same time, the high-speed rail company has also collaborated with the “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above” team to promote the 2013 Golden Horse Award Best Documentary nominee “Beyond Beauty: Taiwan from Above,” providing high-speed rail passengers with “The Beauty of Taiwan” movie early-bird coupons. It is hoped that more people can gain a deeper understanding of this land we live on and jointly protect Taiwan through this film directed by renowned aerial photographer Chi Po-lin, which records the beauty of Taiwan from different perspectives entirely through helicopter aerial photography.
