Tigerair Taiwan makes a blunder: Osaka poster features 'Matsumoto Castle in Nagano'

Tigerair Taiwan planned to increase flights on the Taipei–Osaka route during the summer vacation period and designed a promotional poster conveying the concept of a plane flying to Osaka Castle. However, sharp-eyed netizens spotted that the castle in the poster was actually 'Matsumoto Castle' located in Nagano—not Osaka Castle—and even the Northern Alps could be seen in the background. Netizens joked, “Buy a ticket to Osaka and get Nagano for free?”

With a history of over 500 years, Matsumoto Castle features black-and-white walls and is also known as the 'Crow Castle.' It is approximately 420 kilometers from Kansai Airport.Due to the significant visual differences between Matsumoto Castle and Osaka Castle, netizens also remarked, “It’s so embarrassing to use the wrong castle” and “Turns out I’m the only one who thought Osaka Castle is in Osaka.” Tigerair Taiwan urgently replaced the advertisement this evening, putting up a new poster featuring a flight to 'Osaka Castle.'
