Ashikaga Flower Park ~ Flower Fantasy
Ashikaga Flower Park features three wisteria trellises covering a total of 300 tsubo (approx. 990 sqm), one eight-layered wisteria trellis also spanning 300 tsubo, as well as an 80-meter-long white wisteria tunnel and a yellow wisteria tunnel — making it a rare wisteria park in the world. As the largest light display venue in the Kanto region, the park was ranked second in Japan in Yahoo Japan’s light festival rankings last year. Themed “Garden of Glowing Flowers (光るの花の庭),” Ashikaga Flower Park uses 2.1 million bulbs to recreate the splendor of blooming flowers, with colorful lights creating a magical and dreamy world.

This year’s highlights include not only the continuation of the annual mysterious large wisteria, yellow wisteria tunnel, and white wisteria corridor that recreate the wisteria flower scenes, but also last year’s light mural “Japan’s Four Seasons: Hometown of the Heart (こころの故郷)” created with 300,000 lights, flower fortune-telling, and a 23-meter-high Christmas tower that is essential for the season. Stroll through the luminous garden and enjoy a romantic winter night. Before you leave, don’t forget to try the famous fuji manju (wisteria buns), made with reduced-sugar red bean paste using 100% domestically grown Japanese azuki beans — soft, delicious, sweet without being cloying.

Enoshima ~ Jewels of Shonan
Enoshima Observatory is recognized as a Night View Heritage Site by the Japan Night View Association. With about 6 million visitors annually, winter offers the clearest air, making it the season when the most naturally beautiful scenery is reflected. In winter, from the Enoshima SEA CANDLE observatory, a vast illuminated space stretches from above down to the garden below, adorned with a light tunnel decorated with 40,000 crystals. The SEA CANDLE, bathed in white and purple hues, resembles a “Festival of Light and Color (光と色の祭典),” filled with a dreamy atmosphere. In addition, from the top of the observatory, you can enjoy views of Yokohama’s nighttime scenery, while winter tulips and the decorative lighting of the Enoden train are also must-see winter spectacles.
