As a socially responsible enterprise, Genting Hong Kong has long been committed to leveraging its strengths and resources to benefit local communities and charitable organizations. By inviting six major charity groups, including the Child Welfare League Foundation and The Garden of Hope Foundation, along with beneficiary families, to enjoy Wu Qingxian’s “Those Years We Sang Love Songs Together” concert tour, Genting Hong Kong hopes to share its wish of bringing joy to more people through the moving voice and dazzling audiovisual performances of the love song king – Wu Qingxian.
Wu Qingxian is the first singer in the Chinese music industry to be publicly praised and honored as the “Malaysian Singing God” by the Malaysian government. To celebrate Genting Hong Kong’s 20th anniversary, Genting Hong Kong specially invited the singing god Wu Qingxian to hold the “Those Years We Sang Love Songs Together” Asian concert tour across the Star Cruises fleet and selected Asian cities. When Wu Qingxian held his concert tour in July this year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, over 15,000 fans attended. This time, moving the event to Taipei Arena, Wu Qingxian expressed he felt a bit nervous about returning home, as being a son-in-law to Taiwan and having started his career and fame from Taiwan, he considers Taiwan his second hometown and Taiwanese fans his most important family in life. To thank his family for years of support, Wu Qingxian personally handled everything from song selection, band arrangements, to stage lighting and visuals for this concert, leaving nothing to others. In addition, to continue the love song theme of the concert and create a program highlight, he has also specially invited the long-absent “Eagles Trio” – Qiu Haizheng, Fang Wenlin, and Annie Yi, as well as the long-time absent idol drama queen Huang Jiaqian and the rarely seen love song prince Li Feihui to serve as special guests at the concert, aiming to let fans relive the once-packed stadiums where love songs were sung in unison.
