FRIDAYS Sells Breakfast for the First Time – Buy a Drink Before 11 AM at the Linsen Store and Get a Free Bread

The American-style restaurant TGI FRIDAYS, after closing its Dunhua store, opened a new branch at Linsen thanks to an invitation from Shin Shin Department Store. In addition to investing heavily in the dining environment (including a handmade wooden staircase worth millions), the brand also spotted breakfast business opportunities in the Linsen North Road area and launched its “Morning To Go” breakfast series (Linsen store exclusive), and customers who purchase any drink before 11 AM will receive a free bread of their choice. The cheapest drink on the menu is hot or iced black tea at NT$90.

Drink options include iced or hot lattes (NT$120), iced or hot coffee (NT$100), iced or hot black tea (NT$90), orange juice (NT$100), and apple juice (NT$100). Bread varieties include garlic butter French bread, scallion bread, ham sunny-side-up egg bread, Ceylon Earl Grey tea pineapple bread, mocha coffee bread, and chocolate croissants, all priced at NT$49. From 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, customers can choose one free bread from six flavors when purchasing any drink, so you can enjoy a breakfast with both drink and bread starting from just NT$90.

How did the idea of offering breakfast service come about? TGI FRIDAYS Managing Director Li Hongzhi said that after deciding to open the Linsen store, Shin Shin Department Store offered them the option to rent the first floor, but the space was only around 20-plus ping. The dining area would be too small, and using it as a reception counter would be wasteful. They then consulted their U.S. headquarters for better solutions. Since the U.S. had piloted breakfast services in Dallas earlier in the year, they suggested the Linsen store give it a try.

Li Hongzhi said that sales since launching on the morning of the 27th have been quite good, with many elderly people who had exercised in the park coming to buy. The most popular bread has been the scallion bread, which also came as a bit of a surprise to him.

To coincide with the opening of the Linsen store, FRIDAYS has also introduced seven new menu items: sizzling shrimp and beef skewers on an iron plate (NT$590), sizzling cheese chicken and shrimp on an iron plate (NT$590), sizzling steak with savory sauce on an iron plate (NT$520), sizzling Parmesan chicken on an iron plate (NT$390), Golden Sunshine Squid Salad (NT$390), Gold Medal Mixed Salad (NT$390), and Colorful Berry Fruit Salad (NT$350).
