The A' Design Award in Italy is the world’s largest and most participated design competition, attracting tens of thousands of entries from around the globe every year.
The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications commissioned King E International Lighting Engineering Co., Ltd. to submit the "Heart of Coral" installation for the competition. It has been officially nominated. In addition to international recognition for the design, it also helps the world learn more about Taiwan, effectively achieving the goals of promoting Taiwan and establishing its presence on the global stage.
The 2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival was held from February 19 to March 3 at Dapeng Bay in Pingtung, attracting 13.39 million visitors throughout the exhibition period. The lantern displays received widespread praise, with many families visiting specifically to enjoy this regional pride and highlight unique to Pingtung.
The Underwater World lantern area in the exhibition was inspired by Pingtung’s marine imagery, designed around the concept of a coral reef underwater tunnel. It blends local and traditional elements with international and innovative features, aiming to raise awareness about ocean conservation.
