As the Christmas season approaches, the Tainan City Government not only fully illuminated the main Christmas tree in front of the National Museum of Taiwan Literature earlier this month, as well as the festive lights at Tang De-chang Memorial Park, Zhongzheng Road, Zhongshan Road, Tainan Railway Station, and Xinying Railway Station, but will also light up the Christmas decorations at the Mayor’s Residence on December 13 at 18:00. Through a heartwarming lighting ceremony, the event will feature performances of white Christmas carols, poetry readings, and blessings to celebrate a warm and caring holiday season.
In addition to the Mayor’s Residence, Tainan also boasts beautiful Christmas lights at the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Tang De-chang Memorial Park, Zhongzheng Road, Zhongshan Road, Tainan Railway Station, and Xinying Railway Station, transforming the ancient city into a cozy Christmas destination. Chen Chun-an, Director of the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau, stated that Tainan is continuously evolving into a happy city where people can “dream, work, fall in love, get married, and live leisurely,” as described by the writer Yeh Shih-tao. Therefore, unlike previous years, this year’s Christmas lights at the Mayor’s Residence specially use LED lights to decorate the exterior walls of the building, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere—perfect for dreaming and enjoying happiness. Starting from December 13, the lights will remain on display until January 5, 2014, and will be open for public viewing and photos from 17:30 to 21:30 each evening.
