Introducing Kids to Aviation: Uni Air’s Co-Pilot and Flight Attendant Share Insights in Matsu

Uni Air and the Chang Yung-fa Foundation held a lecture titled “Soaring Hearts – I Believe I Can Fly” today (May 27) at the Jieshou Hall in Nangan, Matsu. Experts from various fields at Uni Air served as speakers, taking local children and adults on an in-depth exploration of the challenging aviation industry.

Uni Air and the Chang Yung-fa Foundation arranged for Yang Chih-chieh, a 777-300ER co-pilot born and raised in Matsu, and flight attendant Chen Hsi-ju, to share their journey of chasing dreams with local students. They also gifted students the book “What I Have Seen and Known About Chang Yung-fa” and donated teaching materials to every high school and junior high school in Lienchiang County.

Uni Air stated that the aviation industry has always been a dream career for young students. Following a lecture held in Penghu last December, this year’s event was launched in Matsu, with over 450 people registering to attend. In addition to students and faculty from Jieshou Junior High School, Zhongzheng Junior High School, and Matsu Senior High School in Nangan, principals and teachers from Zhongshan Junior High School in Beigan and Jingheng Junior High School in Juguang also traveled by boat to join the event.

Uni Air ChairmanLin Chih-chungsaid the lecture allowed students to learn about the aviation industry from different perspectives and job roles, while also encouraging them to bravely pursue their ideals and become outstanding contributors to the aviation field. He also hopes the lecture will help students prepare early for their future academic and career paths.
