The Winter Hot Air Balloon Festival — 2014 Tainan Winter Hot Air Balloon Fire Dance Art Festival officially kicked off yesterday morning at Zuomalan Farm. This year’s event runs from now until February 16, featuring hot air balloon-themed activities and American fire dance performances as the main themes. Among them, the most popular tethered balloon rides are scheduled for two time slots: 7:00–9:00 in the morning and 15:30–17:30 in the afternoon, with a maximum of 350 participants per session. The light and music shows will be held on January 18, 25, and February 1, 8, 15 from 17:30 to 18:00, totaling five sessions. This year also features adorable 10-meter-tall inflatable pandas and yellow rubber ducks joining visitors for fun at the green fields of Zuomalan Farm.

This year’s hot air balloon activities include tethered balloon flight performances, remote-controlled mini hot air balloons, light and music concerts, and a hot air balloon museum. Additionally, there are unique international performances such as the first-ever introduced “American Fire Dance,” Kazakh horse stunt shows, and Russian magic aerial acrobatic variety shows. The American fire dance performances are scheduled at 8:30–8:50, 9:30–9:50 in the morning, and 16:30–16:50, 17:30–17:50 in the afternoon. Moreover, a hot air balloon marriage proposal event is being held this year. Registration is open from now until February 7, and the event runs from now until February 16. The package includes a double hot air balloon ride voucher (approx. 10-minute experience), two entry tickets to Zuomalan Farm, a proposal banner, an emcee, confetti and ribbons, and two hot air balloon souvenirs.
