Keelung Yellow Duck
The Keelung Yellow Duck has been on display for nearly a month now. Despite the incident where it burst on New Year’s Eve, after two days of emergency treatment and touching up, it made a scar-free comeback to celebrate the Lunar New Year with everyone.

Taipei City
Taiwan’s first locally born giant panda cub, “Yuan Zai,” made its official public debut earlier this month and attracted nearly ten thousand visitors on its first day. During the New Year period, besides visiting Yuan Zai at the zoo, you can also take the “Yuan Zai Train” on the Wenhu Line of the Taipei Metro. Both the interior and exterior of the train feature illustrations of Yuan Zai and the zoo, and the seats are decorated with 3D stickers for interactive photo opportunities.

Taichung City
The Taichung Teddy Bear Carnival wrapped up successfully on January 5. To continue the joy and delight that teddy bears bring, the Taichung City Government’s Economic Development Bureau has organized the “2014 Travel with Little Bears” event, which will run through the end of April. The festival will be held in multiple locations including the Zhongzheng District Free Road Shopping Area, Qiuhong Valley AAA HOUSE, Wujhi District Zhonghe Community Development Association, Shenkang District She’nan Flower Sea, the Taichung Lantern Festival, the Aido Happiness Plaza in front of Chao Gang City International Gourmet Restaurant, and the Hakka Cultural Park in Dongshi District. Many of these venues will be open throughout the Spring Festival holiday.

Tainan City
The 2014 Tainan Winter Hot Air Balloon Fire Dance Art Festival has begun. Running from today until February 16, the event features hot air balloon-themed activities and American fire dance performances. One of the most popular attractions is the tethered hot air balloon rides, scheduled for morning sessions from 7:00–9:00 and afternoon sessions from 15:30–17:30, with a maximum of 350 participants per session. The light and music shows will be held on January 18, 25, and February 1, 8, and 15 from 17:30–18:00, for a total of five shows. Additionally, this year features a 10-meter-tall adorable panda and yellow duck inflatable mascots joining in the fun at Zouma Lai Farm’s Green Green Grassland.
