To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Taipei Municipal Zoo, 100 paper-cut animal sculptures have been installed at the zoo starting today, with the exhibition expected to run until the end of April at the Education Center. Taiwanese paper-cut artist Chen Xuejian has crafted a three-dimensional, articulated, multifunctional panda decoration. In honor of the zoo’s centennial, 100 pandas plus 2 penguins are on display at the zoo’s Education Center.

Taiwanese paper-cut artist Chen Xuejian has designed three-dimensional paper-cut animals such as giant pandas, penguins, rhinos, and dinosaurs over the past few years, allowing children and adults alike who are interested in DIY to enjoy the fun of hands-on creation. For the 100th anniversary celebration of Taipei Zoo on February 14 this year, 2 large and 98 regular paper-cut pandas along with 2 penguins are displayed in various poses and expressions, showcasing the rich behavior of giant pandas. The installations are displayed in layered stacks to wish the zoo a happy 100th birthday.

Thank you all for your care and love for the giant panda “Yuan Zai.” Yuan Zai is growing steadily, and the zoo will continue to provide videos of Yuan Zai irregularly. However, the daily “Yuan Zai Fever” MOD live broadcast from 16:00 to 17:00 will still be ongoing. Friends who care about Yuan Zai can watch the panda’s activities through the live stream or replay broadcasts.
