【Weekend Fun in Taiwan】Calla Lily Season in Zhuzihu Kicks Off & “Honey Crème” Ice Cream Grand Opening Promotion

The annual spring highlight of Yangmingshan National Park — the Zhuzihu Calla Lily Season — will take place from March 21 to April 27 in Zhuzihu. This year, in addition to the five recommended streamside walking paths in Zhuzihu by the Taipei City Government’s Public Works Department, Earth Engineering Office, which allow visitors to stroll among the flowers while enjoying the forest’s phytoncides and leisurely immerse themselves in the sea of white calla lilies, the Yangmingshan National Park Headquarters has also planned an “Ecological Tour of Zhuzihu” route. Led by professional guides, visitors can explore the local cultural traditions and ecology, experiencing the area’s unique natural and human landscapes.

Seeing the continuous boom in Taiwan’s ice cream market, the first Korean ice cream brand “Honey Creme” has decided to enter Taiwan, officially launching on March 21 in Taipei’s prime ice cream district — the Zhongxiao Dunhua area. Making its Taiwan debut, “Honey Creme” will offer exclusive and innovative flavors such as beehive ice cream, organic marshmallow ice cream, and natural organic mixed grain powder ice cream, along with an alternative way to enjoy ice cream — paired with spiral bread. In addition, on March 21, Honey Creme’s Taipei store is launching a “buy one get one free” sweet experience, allowing people to enjoy the delicious taste of Honey Creme right on the streets of Taipei without having to fly all the way to Korea.

The public art exhibition “1600 Pandas World Tour — Taipei,” now moved to the National Theater & Concert Hall Arts Square, surpassed 240,000 visitors on its third day. Many people flocked to the venue to see the adorable sight of 1,600 paper pandas and 200 paper Formosan black bears. The Tourism Bureau urges everyone to take public transportation to the venue to support energy conservation and carbon reduction for the planet. Additionally, visiting on weekdays or in the evening is recommended to avoid the crowds and enjoy a more relaxing experience.

Spring flower seasons are in full swing, and Yilan’s pomelo blossoms, which bloom for only two weeks, are about to enter their peak season！The Yilan County Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association announced at the Aiyongliao area of the Zhongshan Leisure Agriculture Zone (No. 682, Zhongshan Village (Road), Dongshan Township, Yilan County) that the “Flowers Reflecting Dongshan – Discovering Happiness in Pomelo Blossoms Spring Festival” has officially begun. The event also calls on the public and businesses to adopt pomelo trees and preorder safe, organic Mid-Autumn pomelos. The Dongshan Township Farmers’ Association has also partnered with Lion Travel to offer one-day, two-day, and corporate group tour packages. The original price of NT$950 for a one-day tour has been discounted to just NT$750 to let visitors experience the beauty of the pomelo blossoms.
