Taiwanese travelers visiting Japan now have a more convenient way to stay connected. Japan's So-net Corporation will launch a new LTE prepaid SIM card “Prepaid LTE SIM” today (the 22nd), utilizing NTT DoCoMo’s high-speed network to provide nationwide mobile coverage, available even in suburban areas. The most affordable 30-day, 100MB plan starts at just NT$3,000 (approx. JPY 800), offering convenient internet access for less than NT$30 per day on average.

So-net’s new prepaid SIM card service at the airport allows foreign tourists to easily purchase and continue using their own familiar devices for internet access, providing a user-friendly option for visitors in Japan. The SIM can be bought right upon arrival and used immediately.
The “Prepaid LTE SIM” offers two data plans—100MB or 500MB—and comes in three different SIM card sizes, resulting in a total of six product options. The 30-day, 100MB plan starts at JPY 3,000 (approx. NT$800), while the 60-day, 500MB plan is JPY 5,000 (approx. NT$475), both offering internet access for less than NT$30 per day on average. Once data is used up, users can top up through recharge plans, which include 30-day 200MB, 30-day 500MB, and 60-day 1GB options, priced at JPY 1,500, JPY 2,000, and approximately JPY 3,838 respectively.

The “Prepaid LTE SIM” is a prepaid card that only requires a simple online registration process after purchase to activate. It also provides multilingual support, including Japanese and English telephone services, as well as website content in Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, and Thai.
Starting April 22, the “Prepaid LTE SIM” will be sold simultaneously at Kansai International Airport and Narita International Airport in Japan. At Kansai International Airport, it will be available directly via vending machines, allowing travelers to purchase anytime regardless of flight arrival time. At Narita International Airport, it can be bought at the Telecom Square Mobile Center in both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
