The most delicious in Kyoto!! Fluffy and delicate "Honey Pancakes"

I fell in love with them the first time I tried the pancakes at the Shinzosuke branch, Cafe Rhinebeck, back in 2012. Shinzosuke’s pancakes are hailed as the most delicious in Kyoto. I’ve visited the branch about five or six times since then. I had thought about coming to the main store before, but I missed it because I misread the closing time. Recently, I finally got the chance to visit again.

Aside from its branch in Kyoto’s Nishijin district, Shinzosuke can also be found in Tokyo. The atmosphere of the Shinzosuke main store is completely different from that of Cafe Rhinebeck — one has a strong traditional Japanese style, while the other has a Western vibe.

Besides the delicious pancakes, Shinzosuke is also famous for its apple pie. Breakfast is usually a better deal, and I always come for the breakfast set with pancakes (laughs). For 680 yen, you get a pancake and coffee — great value.

The interior space at the Shinzosuke main store isn’t very large, so if you’re coming for breakfast, it’s best to arrive right when they open.

Shinzosuke even sells American-style biscuits (biscuits).

Since they have biscuits, how could we miss out on the British-style scone?
