Taiwan's YUNG CHI Cultural & Creative Hotel Tamsui Breeze opened in October 2012: located near Taiwan’s famous attractions “Tamsui Old Street” and “Fisherman’s Wharf.” Tamsui Breeze takes “Dr. George Leslie Mackay’s Time Travel Journey” as the main concept for its planning and design, featuring enchanting micro-aesthetic vocabulary, high saturation, and vibrant Spanish color tones that run through every traveler’s rare lodging experience.

The YUNG CHI Cultural & Creative Hotel Group is based on the “experience of local features and culture,” warmly inviting every visitor to get to know the area. The hotel displays photos of Tamsui’s unique landscapes in guest rooms, guiding travelers to become “locals for a day” and to understand the cultural texture and essence of the city; while also experiencing and feeling through the creations of artists or the expression of words and phrases.
Tamsui Breeze invites guests to leave their own mark: at the entrance of Tamsui Breeze stands a dream beast mailbox. Before check-in, staff will deliver a dream beast postcard to each guest. Guests are invited to write down their current travel feelings before departure and drop the postcard into the dream beast mailbox. One year later, YUNG CHI Cultural & Creative Hotel Tamsui Breeze will send the postcard back to each guest. When received, it will allow them to relive the emotions of that trip—because the emotion created by the time difference is always so touching.

Lobby Charm:
Understanding the hearts of travelers, the hotel avoids the noisy main streets and places its entrance in a quiet alley. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring daylight into the lobby, and the hallway resembles the embarkation dock of a traveler’s journey.
The floating ellipses on the ceiling shimmer with light and vary in height, creating a three-dimensional space that integrates both elegance and freedom. Green lights, sky shadows, and sweet frangipani flowers surround the space; the boat-shaped counter resembles a light skiff swaying between the estuary and wetlands, with schools of fish swimming by and mangrove branches freely swaying—where the space and nature blend harmoniously to create an exquisitely elevated design narrative.

Public Corridor:
Expressing vivid Spanish style through strong color schemes, it showcases the unique charm of Tamsui. On floors 2–10, themed around “Time Travel Journey,” paired with seasonal books, the books nestle along the river of time, where fingertips turning pages awaken the heartbeat of literature, writing about life’s finest seasons and treasuring beautiful journeys. On floors 11–12, the ironwork installation art “See You There (Fan)” symbolizes passion and sincere emotion, wandering through a time tunnel and a displaced sense of time and space, weaving together a uniquely different travel experience.
