The woodcraft brands featured in this exhibition embody life emotions, beliefs, ideals, and refined techniques through wood-based creations. Some, such as “Ichiro Woodcraft” and “Lele Wood,” draw on the history of Taiwan’s traditional woodworking industry, infusing their works with emotional connections and memories, thus presenting modern value and aesthetics. Others, like those extending from the core concept of “A！1u Home,” create a wide range of designs inspired by everyday life — such as “viithe LeKuo,” which uses the home dining scene as its creative theme, “Chu-Mu Studio” with its focus on pet furniture, and “Mai-Zi Woodshop,” crafting various types of furniture.
Meanwhile, the pursuit of preserving, reviving, and refining woodworking techniques is another vital aspect of contemporary woodcraft. For example, “Dandanz Innovation” transforms traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery into fun and interactive pieces; “Shentuo Carpentry” incorporates elements of time, memory, and emotion into its craftsmanship; and “WKidea” seeks the perfect harmony between natural wood and mechanical precision. Returning to the primal imagination and sensory experience that wood offers, “HAPPY WOOD Woodjoy Gallery” creates pieces rooted in nature, while “OUI design Micro Design” breaks free from conventional forms of wood, and “MUYU MuYu Design” gives new life to leftover wood materials — all contributing to the expanding possibilities of modern woodcraft.

Kaohsiung’s Pier-2 Special Zone will launch a woodcraft-themed exhibition featuring not only uniquely designed products but also hands-on opportunities for making personal items. In today’s world, as people seek genuine quality of life and a return to nature, woodworking has become part of our daily lives. Through in-depth study of wood materials, the revival and innovation of craftsmanship, and the creation of new forms and functions in wood design, more possibilities for woodcraft are being unlocked, forming a new lifestyle movement. Compared to mass-produced plastic, molded, or uniformly standardized goods, woodcraft carries the warmth of human touch and the organic texture of natural grain, giving each piece its own character and distinctiveness.
