The third cool summer musical work by the director of "StreetDance," where this time the protagonists aren't competing for trophies but for love. Maddie has just ended a messy relationship, and exhausted, she impulsively decides to marry a temporary intruder in her life—Ralph, an absolute heartthrob. Maddie also invites her sister Taylor to Italy for her wedding. But unexpectedly, Maddie’s fiancé turns out to be someone Taylor had a one-night stand with during her trip to Italy years ago. Unaware of this past, Maddie tries hard to help Ralph and Taylor get to know each other better, and the two end up spending more and more alone time together, discovering they are increasingly compatible. Thus, the sister becomes the rival, the brother-in-law becomes the husband—who will become the bride at this blue-sea-and-sky, dreamy and romantic Italian wedding? And who is truly the other’s destined one?

The entire film was shot in Puglia in southern Italy. During filming, the crew mobilized local residents, with several dance scenes featuring over 500 people, turning locations such as airports, beaches, winding mountain roads, and streets into stages, delivering a brand-new and different summer dance spectacle, perfect for a holiday choice. The tomato fight and dance scenes are even grander than those in the "StreetDance" series, turning the blue seas and skies of Italy into a sunlit, joyful stage. Director Yi Zhiyan said: “Every time before creating a film, I first look for that inner thrill in myself. If I can thrill myself, perhaps I can also thrill the blurred faces of the audience. The thrill of ‘Blue Gate Crossing’ came from fear of the future; the thrill of ‘Operation Code: Sun Yat-sen’ comes from anger about the present. Anger that in the M-shaped society, poverty is about to become hereditary—or perhaps already is. ‘Operation Code: Sun Yat-sen’ is a comedy, but we’re making it the angriest comedy possible.”
