Taiwanese people are passionate about night markets, which is why they continue to open one after another. Now, in Taichung, some business operators see the future potential of the Shuins Economic and Trade Park as an emerging development zone. On July 11, the Shuins Economic and Trade Park in Taichung launched what it claims to be Taiwan’s largest night market—the “Shuins Economic and Trade Cultural & Creative Sightseeing Night Market.”

Business operators hope that the Shuins Economic and Trade Cultural & Creative Sightseeing Night Market can further integrate art, culture, and performance in the future, and even collaborate more closely with the film and television industry, to become a sightseeing night market with its own unique character. The trade night market covers an area of 6,000 pyeong (approximately 19,800 square meters), can accommodate up to 700 stalls, and provides 700 parking spaces. Many vendors have seized the opportunity to set up shop here. In addition to the endless array of stalls, the night market also features a one-of-a-kind five-star air-conditioned restroom, allowing visitors to enjoy a comfortable environment while using the facilities.

Vendors also noted that because of Taichung’s stable weather, it’s perfect for night market outings. Just three days into the vendor recruitment process, all 700 stalls were fully booked. As a result, visitors to the market can find many well-known vendors from across northern, central, and southern Taiwan. Whether you’re craving the northern region’s Angry Squid, the southern region’s Three-Star Green Onion Meat Rolls, or the Alishan Railway Black Tea, you’ll find them all at the trade night market.

Besides food stalls, there are also numerous general merchandise, clothing, and game stalls. For those who need a break, there are also massage stalls available. It’s believed that the arrival of the trade night market will make the nightlife in central Taiwan even richer and more fun!
