Taiwan Railways stated that after the electrification of the Hualien-Taitung railway was put into operation, in conjunction with the "Hualien-Taitung Industry Development and Green Transport Expo" event hosted by the National Development Council in the Hualien-Taitung region, a highly valuable travel voucher has been launched.The "Hualien-Taitung Green Voucher" (Young Pass) allows unlimited rides for three consecutive days from the date of purchase on all TRA train services up to and including Ordinary Express trains (excluding Puyuma, Taroko, sightseeing trains, group trains, special trains, cruise trains, Taroko business class carriages, and other designated trains by the bureau).
The sale period runs from July 16, 2014, to September 15, 2014, and the vouchers are available for purchase exclusively at four stations: Hualien, Yuli, Taitung, and Zhiben.When purchasing, customers must exchange with an on-the-day reserved seat ticket for any service between their originating station (excluding Hualien and Taitung) and any station between Hualien and Zhiben (for example: a Yilan–Hualien Puyuma ticket). Each original ticket allows the exchange for one voucher. Additionally, during the sale period of the Hualien-Taitung Green Voucher, the original Hualien-Taitung YouXue Voucher will be temporarily suspended. Please pay attention to the relevant regulations if you plan to purchase.

Additionally, in coordination with the deployment of 17 Puyuma trains on the Eastern Line, 416 train services nationwide will adjust their schedules, with 235 services experiencing a delay of over five minutes. It is expected that nearly 250,000 trips will be affected by these changes. Adjustments on the Western Line are relatively minor. Currently, the service interval between Taipei and Taitung has been shortened from one every two hours to one every 65–84 minutes. Puyuma train services between Taipei and Taitung run 12 times on weekdays and increase to 18 times on holidays, making future travel to the east even more convenient.
