During the National Day travel period from Thursday, October 9 to Monday, October 13, Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) has seen more enthusiastic ticket purchases compared to previous holiday travel rushes. To better serve passengers,THSR has decided to add three extra train services on October 9, 10, and 12 (two southbound and one northbound) to ease the passenger flow.Passengers can start pre-ordering tickets for these additional services from midnight on Saturday, September 27. THSR encourages passengers to make use of convenience stores, online booking, and the T Express mobile app to reserve tickets in advance, saving time queuing at stations and avoiding crowds.

During the National Day travel period, THSR will add a total of 68 extra services over five days (38 southbound and 30 northbound), bringing the total number of services to 743. Among them, 504 services are eligible for the "Early Bird Discount," accounting for about 68% of the total services during the period.Passengers can enjoy Early Bird discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90% when booking tickets between 5 and 28 days before their travel date.

THSR stated that as of the morning of the 25th, seats are still available for all discount categories under the Early Bird promotion during the travel period, though numbers are limited and will be sold out soon. Passengers are advised to book early to secure tickets, enjoy a great value National Day high-speed rail trip, and “ride the high-speed rail, explore Taiwan” with family and friends.
