Lake Weave House at Bi Lake – Mesmerizing Night View Colors

Taipei’s only two lakeside parks, Dahu Park and Neihu Park, are famed for their breathtaking scenery and jointly known as the “Neihu Twin Jewels.” This summer (June 21), Bi Lake Park gained a stunning new feature – a large-scale bamboo-woven art installation called “Lake Weave House (Bi Hu Zhi Wu),” adding vibrant color to the lakeside.

The Lake Weave House is the first collaborative creation between internationally acclaimed land artist Wang Wen-Zhi and local community residents. Crafted using 4,000 bamboo poles over one and a half months, it will be on display at Bi Lake Park from June 21 until December 31. Growing up surrounded by bamboo forests in Meishan, Chiayi, Wang developed a deep passion for bamboo weaving. The design of the weave house is inspired by the form of a castle, aiming to create everyone's dream fortress. The external passageways symbolize a journey of spiritual purification; through its winding corridors, one can cleanse the dust from their soul before entering the most unique central space inside the weave house – the “Meditation Platform.”
