Halloween Madness – Trick or Treat

The Chinese have the Ghost Month, while the West has Halloween. As one of the major holidays in the Western world, every October, various Halloween celebrations kick off around the globe – ghost parades, pumpkin decorations, nighttime adventures. The eerie thrill brought by ghosts and the joyful chaos of festive activities create a thrilling contrast that really amps up the atmosphere.

In October, both Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland launch special Halloween events. Hong Kong Disneyland unveils a brand-new “Disney Paint the Night” nighttime parade, featuring seven all-new floats adorned with over 740,000 individual LED lights that create mysterious and romantic light shows while bringing classic Disney stories to life. Tokyo Disneyland not only offers a variety of Halloween-exclusive merchandise but also features themed areas that only appear during the season. Disney characters are ready to throw an extraordinary masquerade ball as night falls, with spooky figures lurking throughout the park, creating a totally different vibe.

Halloween is a major holiday in English-speaking countries. Every year, not only are there various pumpkin-themed activities across the UK, but many people also dress up as ghosts and ghouls, chanting “Trick or Treat.” In London, pubs and bars host Halloween parties, and hopping from one venue to the next is a popular tradition. On Halloween day, you’ll spot ghosts in shops and, from time to time, zombies and vampires on the moving subway – don’t get too spooked.

This 90-minute Ghost Walk is led by professional guides dressed as “ghost messengers,” taking you through Stockholm’s Old Town (Gamla stan) to explore ancient corners along cobblestone streets and medieval alleys. They’ll share haunting tales of unsolved murders, legends of haunted mansions, and urban myths left behind from the medieval Black Death. The tour also includes stops at the Grand Square, a historic site where a noble massacre once took place, offering a deep dive into the darker chapters of Sweden’s independence. Ghost Walk avoids overly staged scares, as they’re confident in immersing explorers in the most natural supernatural atmosphere to send shivers down your spine.
