As the weather turns cooler, there's nothing better than soaking in a hot spring to warm your body. In addition to its abundant sightseeing resources, New Taipei City also boasts impressive hot spring resources. Aside from the well-known bicarbonate springs (commonly known as "beauty springs") and sulfur springs, the Jinshan-Wanli area also features Taiwan’s only submarine hot spring. There’s also iron-rich sulfur springs with a reddish hue — each type of spring water has its own unique wonders, making them well worth a personal visit. Therefore, as temperatures gradually drop this late autumn and winter, why not treat yourself to a little New Taipei getaway and a hot spring exploration trip?

To warm not just the body but also discerning palates while visitors relax, this year the New Taipei Tourism Bureau has collaborated with local businesses to launch “Seasonal Specials – Selected Hot Spring Cuisine.” This includes 10 Atayal-style dishes such as grilled ribs with indigenous flair, bamboo tube rice made with mountain taro and wild pepper meat paste, fresh seafood stuffed with sweet peaches and apples, and sturgeon medicinal soup rich in collagen. It also features hearty North Coast seafood meals — all guaranteed to fill your body, mind, soul, and even picky taste buds with happiness.
