The 2014 Taipei Travel Fair officially opened to the public at 12:00 on the 7th, with exhibitions simultaneously held at Taipei World Trade Center Halls 1 and 3. There were a total of 1,450 booths, with participants from 60 countries and regions and 950 exhibitors. Although it was a weekday during working hours, nearly 70,000 people flocked to the fair on the first day to snap up discounts. The ITF Travel Fair gathered tourism promotion units from many countries around the world,
Among them, Japan remained the largest exhibitor, with 141 booths, followed by the U.S. Pavilion with 31 booths and the Korea Pavilion with 29 booths. Among domestic exhibitors, the Council of Agriculture’s 36 booths and Yilan County’s themed pavilion with 25 booths took the top two spots.

All booths pulled out all the stops, using exotic performances to capture the public’s attention and offering the most attractive prices to keep them coming. The small exhibition venue was like a world expo, featuring performance groups from multiple countries such as Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Guam, Argentina, Israel, Slovakia, Honduras and Nicaragua in Central America, taking turns to entertain.

Japan Exhibition Area:
This year’s largest exhibition area, Japan, promoted the slogan “Discover the Heart of Japan,” encouraging Taiwanese travelers to explore the diverse attractions of Japan. The pavilion design centered around the seasonal feel of “autumn and winter” while incorporating elements of “Discover the Heart of Japan.” With 141 booths, there were all kinds of travel experiences loved by Taiwanese, including snow viewing, hot springs, and gourmet tours. Coupled with the recent depreciation of the yen to a seven-year low, now is the best time to visit Japan. Additionally, Japanese exhibitors brought over six original robots to Taiwan, which performed mechanical dance routines 13 times over the four days, successfully drawing crowds.
