Strawberry season has arrived, and the delicate, juicy berries are loved by both kids and adults. Until April, there are opportunities all over Taiwan to step into strawberry farms and enjoy fun picking experiences with family and loved ones, and strawberry picking isn’t only available in Miaoli — there are also many strawberry farms in eastern and southern Taiwan where visitors can come harvest. Below are eight strawberry picking spots compiled for travelers who want to enjoy the fun of berry picking.

● Taipei Nangang
Nestled within the BaiShiHu community in Nangang, the strawberry season here typically runs from December each year to May of the following year. There are currently nine sightseeing strawberry farms, mainly concentrated along Bishan Road (BaiShiHu area) and DaHu Street. Most strawberry farms in Nangang use greenhouses and overhead trellises, so you don’t have to worry about muddy conditions while picking.

● Hsinchu Guanxi
The strawberry season in Guanxi Township runs from mid-November each year to April of the following year, with approximately 18 hectares of strawberries planted, mainly along County Highway 118 and also along Provincial Highway 3. It is the largest strawberry-growing area in all of Hsinchu County. Strawberry farming in Guanxi is not limited to traditional soil cultivation but mainly uses the tube planting method, resulting in larger and higher-quality fruits.

Hsinchu Guanxi strawberries are somewhat famous, and its nearly five-month-long season is divided into four periods. Due to high visitor numbers during the New Year’s holiday, the first period’s strawberries sold out early and the season ended ahead of schedule. The second period is expected to start in early February！

From around December each year to April of the following year is the peak strawberry season in Dahu. In addition to Dahu Township, neighboring areas such as Sanyi Township, Zhuolan Town, and Shitan Township also offer fun strawberry-picking trips, along with opportunities to explore local old streets and hot springs along the way.
