The "2015 Moon Harbor Lantern Festival" takes "Yanshui Night Banquet" as its creative theme, presented through five major themes: "Listening to Music," "Watching Dance," "Resting," "Soft Music," and "Banquet Ends." The five main artist groups participating in the festival integrate sound, visuals, and performance art to interact with the public. By blending traditional themes with modern installation art techniques, they weave together the local customs and ambiance of Yanshui, creating a lantern festival with distinctive local flair. Lasting 30 days from February 14th to March 15th, this year’s festival invites domestic and international art teams to collaborate, planning 34 artistic lantern installations, 6 illuminated bridge environments, as well as an "Alleyway Lantern Area" that incorporates sites such as Qiaonan Old Street, Wangye Temple Alley, Liancheng Alley, and the Octagonal Tower. There’s also a "Light Environment" that makes full use of the lakeside and wooded areas—offering lantern art that can be enjoyed both day and night, combining river harbors, environments, the people of Yanshui, and local culture into one spectacular display. It’s definitely something not to be missed!
