When it comes to pickled cabbage pork hot pot in Taipei, most people would first think of the 50-year-old Taipower Lijin Pickled Cabbage Pork Hot Pot — a Taipei classic known for its authentic taste and nostalgic, vintage ambiance, which has won over many food enthusiasts. But in 2013, the head chef of Taipower Lijin left to start his own new restaurant, “Lianjin Pickled Cabbage Pork Hot Pot,” in Neihu District. Though it branched off from the original Taipower Lijin, the new spot offers a completely different style, with both decor and flavors that feel fresh and exciting.

Lianjin Pickled Cabbage Pork Hot Pot is tucked away inside a Neihu building. Its interior features refined Japanese-style decor, with a modern, spacious, clean, and comfortable dining environment that exudes a contemporary light-meal vibe. While the old shop uses traditional charcoal stoves, the new one opts for induction cooktops — yet still delivers that classic pickled cabbage pork hot pot flavor. Each table is served a basic platter including pickled cabbage, scallion pancakes, cold glass noodles, and meatballs. Both the scallion pancakes and pickled cabbage can be refilled for free, letting diners enjoy to their heart’s content.
