As the Yushan azalea flowers open, their color gradually shifts from peach red to pink and white. When in full bloom, they form lush clusters, exuding extraordinary charm. To adapt to the harsh alpine environment, Yushan azaleas have developed thick, tough, leathery leaves with glossy, waxy surfaces and curled leaf edges—all designed to reduce moisture evaporation and withstand the cold. While hiking, take some time to observe these features closely. Additionally, visitors planning to go to Hehuan Mountain are reminded that due to the high altitude, spring mornings and evenings see large temperature variations, the weather is unpredictable, and the alpine UV radiation is strong.
