A sea of blooming flowers at Zhongshe — vibrant purple salvias and lilies in full display

The Zhongshe Sightseeing Flower Market spans six hectares. Though compact in size, it is filled with blossoms throughout the four seasons, offering a feast for the eyes. After the tulip season around the Lunar New Year, it is currently featuring lilies specially imported from overseas. In addition to the four common major types of lilies, rare varieties seldom seen in Taiwan — such as those with purple eyes, double reds, and pink fragrances — are also on display. Moreover, the flower market features a colorful field planted with various blooms including hollyhocks, water lilies, salvias, and zinnias, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a vibrant sea of millions of flowers without leaving the country.

Lilies and hollyhocks will remain in bloom until the end of May. Among the lilies on display are Oriental, Asiatic, and Trumpet lilies, along with rarer varieties seldom found in the Taiwanese market, such as Thesire, Dancing Lady, Prince’s Consent, Triomphe de Luxembourg, and Rose Lily. Meanwhile, hollyhocks — also known as “One-Zhang Red” — are also in full glory, available in both single and double petals, with over ten color variations including red, peach, pink, yellow, white, and black.
