No need to travel all the way to Taitung or Hualien to enjoy daylilies. In Meishan Township, Chiayi County, you can also admire these golden blooms. Currently, the daylilies at Hengshanping Leisure Park have begun to flower, covering the ground with a vast yellow carpet that attracts many visitors to come and admire them together.

Hengshanping Leisure Park in Meishan Township covers an area of 1.6 hectares. Originally planted with miscellaneous trees and mahogany, four years ago, in an effort to revitalize unused space and beautify the environment, a project was launched to encourage public participation in tree planting and afforestation, as well as the development of a leisure park. Today, Hengshanping Leisure Park is lush with trees and flowers, featuring cherry blossoms, osmanthus, red plum, apricot blossoms, peach blossoms, and daylilies. The park also includes walking trails and mountain loop paths, among which the daylilies are the most eye-catching.

Park officials stated that daylilies, commonly referred to as the “mother’s flower,” are expected to be in full bloom by Mother’s Day on May 10. From now until June 30, the Daylily Sea Festival will be held. The daylilies in the park have already begun to bloom, creating a stunning yellow sea of flowers that allows everyone to enjoy the beautiful daylily fields without having to travel to eastern Taiwan.

Traffic: Approximately 150 meters down a small road near the CPC gas station at the 266.5 km mark of Provincial Highway 3 on Zhongzheng Road in Meishan Township, heading toward Dalin (look for the Hengshanping Leisure Park sign along the road)
