Located in downtown Salem, Massachusetts, the Witch Museum focuses on the 1692 witch trials that took place in the area, while also aiming to commemorate and help visitors better understand this terrifying event and the people involved.

This creatively designed witch museum recreates various scenes related to the Salem witch trials using wax figures—such as court trials, prison conditions, abuse, and gruesome execution methods—while also exhibiting a variety of witchcraft-related artifacts.

One of the most terrifying witch trials in Western history took place in Salem in 1692. At the time, there was no formal government system, and the area was isolated within Native American territory. For reasons that remain unclear to this day, local residents began accusing each other indiscriminately. After a year of trials, 25 people were eventually executed in brutal ways, and several others died in the oppressive jail cells.
