Summer vacation is just around the corner, and many travelers have already started planning their summer getaways. Japan has always been one of Taiwanese people’s favorite overseas travel destinations, and with the yen hitting a 17-year low, traveling to Japan has become a nationwide trend. This year, the Hokkaido flower season officially kicked off in May, and Hokkaido’s most beautiful flower fields are definitely a must-visit destination in a lifetime.

● Biei Town
Biei, located in the Kamikawa region of central Hokkaido, is world-renowned for its picturesque rolling hills and vast flower fields. In the 1970s, a world-famous Japanese landscape photographer visited this town, was moved by the local scenery, and later widely used the photos he took during multiple visits to Biei in photo collections, postcards, posters, films, and TV commercials. This gradually made Biei famous across Japan and turned it into one of Hokkaido’s top tourist spots. Among them, the rainbow-quilt-like landscape formed by a tapestry of lavender, sunflowers, poppies, cosmos, and purple salvia is especially captivating. The stunning floral displays along Patchwork Road, Shikisai-no-Oka, and Zerubu-no-Oka, as well as the breathtaking views of the horizon from the mountains, are particularly famous.
