With the arrival of summer, it's once again water activity season. To promote safe and legal water activities, the Chinese Taipei Sports Federation recently held the “Top 10 Charming Water Bodies Voting Campaign,” which ran for a month. With over 30,000 participants casting their votes, the results are in: first place went to Keelung's Waibei Mountain, followed by New Taipei City’s 17 Kilometers Coast in second and Fulong Beach in New Taipei City in third. As for Kenting, often considered the most popular summer water play destination, it only managed to secure sixth place. Let’s take a look at the top 10 most charming water bodies chosen by netizens.

The final ranking of Taiwan’s Top 10 Charming Water Bodies is as follows:
◎ Keelung Waibei Mountain
Located on the western side of Keelung City, this natural coastline is the longest remaining stretch of natural coast in the area. From here, you can head west towards Aodi and Jinshan. On one side are steep mountain cliffs, and on the other is an exquisitely formed rocky shoreline. Though it's just a short 5-kilometer stretch of rock coast, it offers visitors plenty of surprises. Sit by the sea and watch the waves crash ashore while breathing in the ocean air. The coastal walkway offers sweeping views of lush green cliffs and azure bays, undulating along the terrain, making it ideal for both sightseeing and light exercise.

◎ Hsinchu City 17 Kilometers Coast
The 17 Kilometers Coast is an important intertidal zone in northern Taiwan, rich in ecological scenery. The seaside cycling path is a favorite among cyclists, the shoreline is a haven for joggers, and it's also the best spot to enjoy the sunset at Xiangshan. During holidays, visitors flock here from all over.

◎ New Taipei City Fulong Beach
Fulong has been developed into a beach resort thanks to its golden sandy shores. The 3-kilometer-long beach is perfect for a variety of beach activities, such as sand sculpting, beach volleyball, and beach soccer, or simply enjoying the warm sand. The gently sloping shoreline is especially suitable for swimming and building sandcastles. Water sports such as windsurfing and canoeing are always a hit, getting visitors excited and screaming with joy.

◎ Pingtung County Xiaoliuqiu
Xiaoliuqiu is home to many naturally formed, uniquely shaped rocks and a vibrant intertidal ecosystem. At night, there are even fireflies. Coupled with convenient transportation and numerous guesthouses, it has become a beloved travel destination for many visitors.
